I noticed a fairly new way to get discounted deals online, it’s called the Amazon Local.
There’s no real surprise that yet another big brand name comes into the daily coupon market – There are plenty of consumers looking for deals on a daily basis, almost as habit!
Anything that brings great local savings to the attention of bargain hunters is a good thing in my book. It’s not just you noticing the dollar doesn’t stretch as far as it did last year so every penny counts.

The Amazon Local business model isn’t only focusing on the US market – A rollout of AmazonLocal daily deals used London UK as another trial area last August 2012, and now has a few cities and is expanding – that’s how I found out about it!1

There aren’t the amount of local deals that you get at Groupon available yet, but I guess it’s just a matter of time before local businesses realise they can easily advertise these products or services free of charge at AmazonLocal – so spread the word “there’s a new deal to be had in town”
Right now the best deal on AmazonLocal UK seem to be get away breaks with 2 night stays coming in at well under £100. The shopping section is a bit of a non starter unless you’re looking to educate yourself as a designer – All I would buy there would be the personalised photo canvas.

- £25 (regular price £50.90) for a 60 x 40cm canvas, including delivery
- £28 (regular price £60.90) for a 70 x 50cm canvas, including delivery
That’s a pretty cheap price … I paid £59 for a 70×50 at one of those isle mobile stores at the CMK in Milton Keynes. There’s only one Healthy & Beauty deal on the Amazon daily deals UK site which is a hell of a lot different to their daily deals US site.

I fully expect to see Amazon Local growing the pretty soon – especially if Amazon UK choose to market their new daily deals UK part of the brand.
