They tried it and got nowhere… I bet a pack of biscuits they threw away their money buying poorly put together over priced training programs that delivered garbage. That’s why I think that affiliate marketing is just seen as a scam for so many who have tried it?
In this post I will outline some of the main problems people face when starting affiliate marketing and why so many believe affiliate marketing is a scam.
Affiliate marketing is certainly the easiest way to generate money from the Internet, that being said it is not the “get rich quick scheme” so many tout it to be. It is not a silver bullet to becoming rich in a few days.
There’s plenty who have tried affiliate marketing have been at it for months even years but have made not one penny.
So why do people fail so badly at affiliate marketing if it’s supposed to be such a fantastic way to make money online?
Bad Affiliate Advice May Cost You More Than Just Cash
Most who are beginning affiliate marketing are drawn to programs that offer “fast cash” they are keen to take the offer of affiliate programs that “guarantee success” but if the truth be known those programs are designed to reel in the newbies to online business knowing that the answers most people are looking for is to make a fast buck.

Once you get a labeled as an affiliate no-one can trust, it’s a hard slate to rub clean. It’s something that new affiliate marketers often get wrong. Promoting absolutely anything just to get a commission.
These days scams that pose as legitimate programs are in abundance. One I firmly believe is a sham Is Empower Network 2. Just imagine promoting a program that just takes folks for a ride and siphoning money from them.
Get the wrong training and information at the start and you’re not just wasting your time, and maybe throwing away good money, but your reputation, you’ll quickly be losing energy and faith in online marketing too no doubt!
To Succeed As An Affiliate
One of the most important lessons if not the most important lesson for online marketers is “the relevance of keywords” if you fail to grasp that early all important lesson you will NEVER make any money online. It’s a lesson that’s really easy to grasp IF you get the right affiliate training.
A quick keyword lesson:
There’s a lady Lulu, having poor skin issues and she’s looking for some information online, Lulu may type into the search box a phrase like… “Acne problems” That is called a keyword. Now most newbie marketers may think great, I’ll build a web-page and call it acne problems and hey presto I’m going to make bank!
Problem being acne problems is not a keyword that is targeted and ’offering Lulu a solution‘ to having skin problems at all. Lulu will probably narrow down her search after surfing the web. Something more inclined to give her the results they actually needs, which may look like “acne treatments for women” or”acne cure for women with sensitive skin.”
Those last 2 search terms are what affiliates call “targeted or buyer keywords“ they are what a buyer types into google when looking for a cure for the acne issues.
Our job as affiliates is to connect the person looking for an acne cure and introduce them to a solution that may help…

Build your affiliate campaigns around principles like that and you will get results BUT so many don’t grasp that all important first keyword lesson.
So they become disillusioned by the whole online marketing process and believe that the affiliate marketing they thought was the key to online cash is nothing more than a scam.
That’s just one lessons in online marketing that will help you to succeed and it didn’t cost you a penny, and there’s many more like that :)
